Our mussels are grown and harvested from marine farms located in the beautiful Far North of New Zealand in Houhora Bay and in the equally stunning Coromandel Peninsula area. Remote bays and inlets provide an ideal growing area for these wholesome, succulent shellfish and ensure consistent quality and supply. Named for their characteristic green shells, New Zealand Greenshell/Lipped mussels are a native mussel unique to New Zealand. They are farmed suspended on ropes in cool, pristine waters where they grow from spat to mature shellfish. Because they never come in contact with the seafloor, they remain free from sand and grit. Transported to Auckland on our temperature controlled fleet, the mussels are processed, packaged & dispatched from our USFDA approved processing plant in West Auckland, not far from New Zealand’s largest port and airport.
